Send to Lender: transfer a loan to another LendingWise lender

Send a complete loan application from a broker's LendingWise account to a lender's account.

Send to Lender lets a broker who uses LendingWise send a full loan application, including the borrower, property details and documents, straight into a lender's LendingWise account. The lender gets a new loan file set up on their own application form and document checklist, and the broker keeps their original file.

This article covers both sides: brokers who send loans and lenders who receive them.

How it works

  1. LendingWise marks the lender as an Approved Lender, which means they can receive loans this way.
  2. LendingWise turns on Send to Lender for the broker's account.
  3. The broker picks the lenders they work with in Settings > Platform Settings > Company Settings, in the Lender Partners card at the bottom of the page.
  4. The broker opens a loan file and uses Send to Lender in the menu on the left, under DEAL ROOM.

The LendingWise team switches on both sides. If you don't see the options below, see "Get set up" at the end of this article.

For lenders: get ready to receive loans

  1. Ask to be an Approved Lender. Submit a help ticket saying you'd like to receive broker submissions through Send to Lender.
  2. Check your setup is current. Loans arrive using your own settings, so make sure these are up to date:
    • Loan programs: brokers choose from your active programs.
    • Branches: brokers send the loan to one of your active branches.
    • File statuses: brokers pick the status the loan starts in, such as Lead.
    • Form Fields: your Quick App and Full App setup decides which fields brokers see and which are mandatory.
    • Required Docs & Conditions: your required docs decide the checklist brokers match their documents to.

A loan sent to you shows up in your pipeline as a new loan file, in the branch, loan program and status the broker chose.

For brokers: choose your lenders

Once Send to Lender is turned on for your account:

  1. Go to Settings > Platform Settings > Company Settings and scroll to the Lender Partners card at the bottom. It lists the lenders marked as Approved Lender.
  2. Tick the lenders you work with.
  3. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

Don't see a lender you work with? See "Get set up" below.

For brokers: send a loan

Open the loan file. In the menu on the left, under DEAL ROOM, click Send to Lender. The page has two parts:

  • Submission History at the top lists every time this file was sent, with the date, who sent it and which lender. You can filter by date, lender and sender.
  • Send to Lender below it walks you through five steps: Configuration, Form Review, Validation, Documents, and Review & Submit.

Step 1: Configuration

Fill in:

  • Lender: one of the lenders you ticked in Lender Partners. If you haven't ticked any, you'll see "No lender partners have been configured" with a pointer to Company Settings.
  • Branch: the lender's branch. The list fills in after you pick a lender.
  • Broker Email: type the broker's email and click Look up. If the lender doesn't have that broker yet, you'll see "No matching broker" and boxes for First Name, Last Name, Company and Phone. First and last name are required.
  • Loan Program: the lender's program (optional). The list fills in after you pick a branch.
  • File Status: the status the loan starts in on the lender's side.
  • Application Type: Quick App (the default) or Full App, depending on how much detail the lender wants up front.

Then click Next.

Step 2: Form Review

You'll see the lender's application form ("Review & Complete Loan Application"), already filled in with what LendingWise could match from your loan file. A bar at the top counts the fields:

  • Mapped: filled in from your file.
  • Empty: your file had nothing to fill them with.
  • Mismatched: your value isn't one of the lender's options, so pick the right one.
  • Required: how many of the lender's required fields are filled, for example 19/83.

Required fields are shaded. Fill in what you can, then click Next.

Step 3: Validation

If any required fields are still empty, a Required Fields Missing window lists them by section. Click a field in the list to jump to it, or click Stay & Fix to close the window and keep working. You can't move on until every required field is filled.

Step 4: Documents

Match the documents on your loan file to the lender's required documents list. Only the documents you match are sent.

Step 5: Review & Submit

Check the summary, then submit. LendingWise creates the loan in the lender's account, and the send shows up in Submission History on your loan file.

What gets sent

Sent to the lender:

  • Borrower and co-borrower information
  • Property details
  • Loan and application data that matches a field on the lender's form
  • The documents you matched in Step 4
  • Other sections that match the lender's form, such as guarantors, entity details and the schedule of real estate owned

Not sent:

  • Documents you didn't match in Step 4
  • Your notes, tasks and pipeline history
  • Anything with no matching field on the lender's form

Your own loan file doesn't change. Sending makes a copy for the lender.

Privacy

  • A loan can only be sent when the lender is an Approved Lender and the broker has ticked them in Lender Partners.
  • Brokers only see what they need to fill in the form: the lender's program names, branch names, required doc names, form labels and file statuses. They never see the lender's fees, settings, users or other loans.
  • Lenders only receive the loan that was sent, not the broker's other files or settings.
  • Neither side logs into the other's account.

Frequently asked questions

Does sending a loan remove it from my account?

No. Your loan file stays where it is. The lender gets a copy.

Can I send the same loan to more than one lender?

Yes, to any lender you've ticked in Lender Partners. Each send is listed in Submission History.

Do all my documents go across?

No, only the ones you match to the lender's list in Step 4.

I don't see Send to Lender on my loan file. Why?

It only shows when Send to Lender is turned on for your account, the loan file is active and you're a back office or branch user. If you think you should see it, submit a help ticket.

As a lender, where do sent loans show up?

As new loan files in your pipeline, in the branch, loan program and status the broker chose.
