[Inside a loan file](https://help.lendingwise.com/knowledge/using-the-platform?hsLang=en#inside-a-loan-file) # Loan Stage Visual Tracker Progress Bar ## The File Tracker bar that shows and sets a loan's stage, from Application to Paid Off/Sold.   The **Loan Stage Visual Tracker Progress Bar** is an intuitive visual tool that shows the current stage of a loan as it progresses through key lifecycle milestones: from *Application* to *Paid Off/Sold*. Inspired by the simplicity of a Pizza Tracker or Status of a delivery, this progress bar helps users including loan officers, back office staff, brokers, and borrowers: quickly understand where a loan stands and what comes next. Users with appropriate permissions can interact with the tracker to update stages in real time. The stage is separate from the file's Primary File Status: a Lead file can show Underwriting, for example. To change the stage, click it on the bar under the loan file header. It saves right away with no confirmation (you'll see "File stage updated successfully") and isn't recorded in the Change Log. The bar only shows when Enable Loan Tracker is on in Settings \> Platform Settings \> Company Settings (Loan Configuration card).
