[Loan Origination](https://help.lendingwise.com/knowledge/using-the-platform?hsLang=en#loan-origination) # Nested Entities under primary borrowing entity ## An entity can have members that are also an entity, going many layers deep ### **Key Features:** 1. **Multi-layered Hierarchy**: - Each member of a borrowing entity can also be an entity. - Members of these entities can also form additional layers, up to **10 levels deep**. 2. **Flexible Structuring**: - Enables more comprehensive representation of borrowing relationships within complex organizations or groups. 3. **Universal Availability**: - This feature is available for **all users**. 4. **Simple Activation**: - To use nested entities, turn on "Enable Nested Entity Members" in Settings \> Platform Settings \> Company Settings. --- ### **How to Enable Nested Entities** 1. **Navigate to Company Profile Settings**: - Go to your CRM or LOS dashboard. - Click on **Settings** in the main navigation menu. - Select Platform Settings \> Company Settings. 2. **Enable Nested Entities**: - Find "Enable Nested Entity Members". - Turn it **ON** to enable the feature. 3. **Save Changes**: - Click Save at the bottom of the page. - Once enabled, the feature will be immediately accessible. --- ### **How to Use Nested Entities** 1. **Create a Primary Borrowing Entity**: - Start by creating or selecting a primary borrowing entity in your system. 2. **Add Members as Entities**: - Under the primary entity, add members as needed. Each member can be set to an individual or entity and those entoes can have additional member entities. 3. **Build Multi-layered Hierarchies**: - Within any member entity, you can add further members, building up to 10 levels of nested entity/member relationships. 4. **Manage and Track**: - Easily view and manage all entities in the hierarchy using the entity overview interface. --- ### **Benefits of Nested Entities** - **Streamlined Organization**: Simplifies management of complex borrowing groups. - **Enhanced Insights**: Gain a clearer view of the relationships and dependencies within entities. - **Scalability**: Supports growth by allowing up to 10 layers of nested entities. Once it's on, an entity's Members/Officers section becomes a card that asks "How many members/officers are there with 20%+ ownership?".
